Ethical Payment Processing with Charity Clear
For some time now we have been wanting to give our customers an alternative to PayPal when paying by credit or debit card. If you’re not a PayPal customer, we’re aware that their option to pay without an account is not always clear or straightforward to use.
We are ever so pleased to announce that we have found a payment service provider who not only offers the service we want but is ethical to boot! From now on, as well as paying by PayPal you can now choose to pay for your shopping through the ethical payment service provider, Charity Clear.
Offering the same levels of security (for you and us) as any other payment service provider, Charity Clear became the obvious option for us because of their not for profit status.
100% of the profits from the operation of Charity Clear, as the name implies, are used to support charities. Currently the profits go to Epilepsy Scotland and this is what they say about their plans for the future:
100% of CharityClear’s profit goes to charity and as Epilepsy Scotland wholly-own CharityClear, initial profits go to support this organisation. In time, the plan is to distribute the profits amongst a rotating basket of worthwhile charities. Large national and international merchants who integrate with CharityClear may negotiate distribution of funds to appropriate, recognized charities on an individual basis.
We’re so excited to be able to improve our service to you and at the same time ensure there’s an ethical element to it. Something close to our hearts and which runs through the veins of our business.
So, next time you’re shopping with us you know what to do, select ‘Pay by Debit/Credit Card’ during checkout and work with us to keep all aspects of our business as ethical as possible!
For those that may be wondering – as we did – Epilepsy Scotland does not fund or conduct animal research. Source – Animal Aid
